Tovar Clinic and Cotelette, Cap Haitien
When my group from the Western North Carolina Conference arrived in Cap Haitien, a team of American doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who had come to serve at the Tovar Clinic joined us. Part of the Cap Haitien circuit, the clinic has been in operation for close to 30 years and serves the rural poor of the village of Grison-Garde.

On Saturday afternoon, we flew from Port-au-Prince to Cap Haitien, the second-largest city in Haiti on the north end of the island. Some of our team members have been to Haiti many times before—their churches have been in ministry there for close to 30 years—while others are seeing the city for the first time.

On Saturday morning, our group from the Western North Carolina Conference shared a van ride to the new UMCOR headquarters with a team of nurses, doctors and a dentist. They were doing an assessment of health-care needs in Haiti.
